Spinnaker Sound Marina - March 2016 update

Good afternoon customers & friends

It's March already and this is the first email newsletter of 2016.... so let's get straight down to business....

The Spinnaker Sound team has grown. With the sad departure of Joel, our team has been boosted with the addition of Fiona and Luke.

Fiona is the friendly face of the marina on Thursdays & Fridays and will be helping out with some exciting new projects.

uke has just joined us as an Operations Assistant. He's a demon on Fred The Forklift and will be taking care of you on weekends.

Welcome Fiona and Luke!

Hip hip hooray. For the first time in a couple of decades, the marina entrance and fairways are now 2+ meters deep (LAT). Many thanks to the excellent chaps from East Coast Maritime and the mighty tug Lismore which spent a couple of weeks levelling the marina basin. We have a selection of recovered items in the office if you've lost your anchor, shopping trolley, crab pot, pacemaker, fishing gear or propellor.

Dive Hive has now opened at Spinnaker Sound. Operated by the lovely Peter and Renee, Dive Hive offers PADI certified scuba dive courses, snorkelling and dive tours aboard their boat Nemo to Flinders Reef, Hendersons and other great sites, equipment rental & sales, coffee and convenience goods, including my favourite... Healthy Farms unhomogenised milk. Check out Dive Hive on Facebook at www.facebook.com/divehiveaustralia

Fiona has badgered me to include the following items in this newsletter (thanks Fee ):

  • We are running an Easter raffle with proceeds going to our splendid friends at Bribie Island Volunteer Marine Rescue. Tickets are on sale in the marina office
  • As a condition of berthing, please remember to email through your annual insurance renewals when they become available. For competitive insurance, our resident brokers Sean and Korina from IC Frith are always happy to help out. Email seank@icfrith.com.au
  • Apologies. We have been castigated for not properly advising customers of an increase in Boat & Trailer Yard fees effective 1 January from $250 to $300 per quarter
  • Finally, the bit about dirty bottoms. We have a few slots remaining for antifouls over the next couple of weeks if you would like to display a pristine underside for the Easter holidays. You can email Ben to discuss your needs or for a quote at benh@spinnakersoundmarina.com.au

The Spinnaker Sound team wishes you all a relaxing, fun, enjoyable, possibly inebriated and safe Easter! The marina will be open throughout the Easter holiday.
